New install of FC12 Distributed in Azure, how to set up Azure database Answered

I did a fresh install of FC12 on a VM in Azure.

I tried using FlexiCapture to create a new Azure SQL database. I know the permissions were ok because it created the database, but it timed out before it finished.

So I installed SQL express on a temporary VM and let FlexiCapture create the database there. That was successful.

Then I followed the instructions in these two articles (below) to export the database to a bacpac file and import to Azure.

Then I tried to change the FlexiCapture settings to point to the SQL database in Azure. It was not successful. Both the "OK" and "TEST CONNECTION" button gave the same response: a red exclamation mark with a red circle around it. Is it possible to use the Azure SQL server with FC12? If so, how do I do it?

    Hello,

    Please note that Microsoft Azure SQL is not in the list of supported servers.
