Having a problem with a flexilayout

Can someone help me understand this situation?

Everything seems to match fine when i test the elements, however it will give me this error on some invoices and not match.... what is the meaning behind this? how would one rectify this situation?

    Shrewdu,

I can't really tell by the images you provided. Is there a possibility to get the project?

sure, i don't see a problem with that,

even if someone gives me the knowledge on how to diagnose such an issue, that would also be fine.

i'm about to leave work for the weekend now, but i will reply with some information if that's necessary.

    shrewdu,

Actually a whole FlexiLayout project consist of everything in the folder. Those files you have on your google drive will not work. You need to zip up the whole project. If you have multiple images in the project, just leave the one with the problem. Otherwise let me know what time zone you're in. Maybe if we are in the same time zone, we can do a webinar to remotely view your computer.

while i've done some work with a project, i'm not even getting this current flexi-layout to that stage yet, i'm finding that sometimes when i'm creating a flexi-layout i get these inscrutable problems that i just can't look into and understand.

the pictures i showed are from me doing a "match" inside flexi-layout studio on an invoice (2 page invoice) and it telling me it requires more pages without telling me how that could possibly be the case.

the files i sent are the flexi layout files, are these not appropriate? the whole project would be quite large.

    shrewdu,

I understand. Sometimes the error message doesn't tell you too much on where the issue could be. I usually disable pieces of the project to figure out where my problem is. I would start from the bottom of the tree and disable as you go up.

As for your files, they are not enough to make a project. If you look at the FlexiLayout sample project that comes with FlexiCapture (C:\Users\Public\ABBYY\FlexiCApture\10.0\Samples\FLS\English) Basically one of the folder is a whole project. If you zip it up, its actually not that large assuming you don't have too many sample images in it.

    Shrewdu,

That file you sent is NOT the FlexiLayout Project. If you look at the screenshot in your original message, its a totally different screen. Its actually the FlexiCAPTURE project. Your original message said there was issue with you FlexiLayout Project. Can you please zip that up. Also your FlexiCapture Project should not be this large. The template (document definition) is about 1.3GB. You used too many/large quality images. This is going to affect performance in the long run if not memory issue. Once you get me the FlexiLayout Project, I can probably fix the issue and build a better FlexiCapture project from your FlexiLayout Project.

Other option is that I see you have a test.pdf file. What are you trying to capture in there. I could create a flexilayout project for you.

    shrewdu,

Thank you for the project. I found the issue you were having. Basically in your FlexiLayout/Classifier - Properties - Multi-page Parameters setting you have the Minimum number of pages set to 2. For Document 3/4 and 5/6 your header/footer are bad and it can't pick up the correct number of pages. So in this case, 0 since it can't really find the header and footer. You minimun threshod is 2 and that is why you are getting that error message. Also you're are using exact constrains instead relations. This is causing problem with the low score in the FlexiLayout which is causing it to not match your layout for document 3/4 and 5/6

I'm going to try and improve your layout but seem to be on an older release of FlexiLayout. I'm on 10.0.5.1554. (Help -About) You can either upgrade to the latest release or let me know what release you're on and I can create the layout in that release.

    shrewsu,

Here is your updated FlexiLayout Project and FlexiCapture Project. There is probably more tweaking you can do to improve the recognition quality but overall I improved the capture location. With some of the issue you had with your layout, I recommend talking to your local center and check if they have an training class or online training class. A lot of the mistakes you made were very simple one.

Hello, I don't think I should create a separate thread to discuss my problem, since it is very similar to above one. I have the same error, but in FC project. Here are my logs and I don't really understand why I receive this error. Can anyone help me please?

Document 2: Page 1: Number of Document Definition sections with FlexiLayouts: 2

Document 2: Page 1: Section 'Document Section 1' (Document Definition '1111') with FlexiLayout '1111'

Document 2: Page 1: Section 'Document Section 1' (Document Definition '2222') with FlexiLayout '2222'

Document 2: Page 1: Matching the header element of the FlexiLayout '1111'...

Document 2: Page 1: Unable to match the header element of the FlexiLayout '1111.'

Document 2: Page 1: Matching the header element of the FlexiLayout '2222'...

Document 2: Page 1: The header element of the FlexiLayout '2222' has been matched with '1' quality.

Document 2: Page 1: FlexiLayouts that can be used for matching :

    Document 2: Page 1: '2222'

    Document 2: Page 1: Matching FlexiLayout '2222'...

Document 2: Page 1: Unable to match the FlexiLayout '2222.'

Document 2: Page 1: None of the Document Definition sections has been matched.

Document 2: Page 1: Object was processed in 3189 milliseconds.

    Hello,

The log means that the despite the Header being matched correctly, the quality of the matching of the rest of layout is too low or some required element is not found.

To resolve the issue please open the same document that is not matched in the FLS, find the element where the matching fails and correct the layout.

If this document is matched in the FLS correctly and fails only in the FlexiCapture itself, please check your pre-recognition settings:

Load Image > Image Preprocessing settings button > Image processing block > Convert color and gray images to black-and-white.

Usually in the FLS the BW conversion by default is ON, and in the FC it's OFF and that is causing the majority of layout matching differences.
