I've noticed on occasion that ABBYY will misread a particular check mark box. It almost always shows as checked, even when the check mark box has absolutely nothing in it. I may have found a fix for this problem.
********** It should be noted that we use very small ck mk boxes. And instead of squares we use bubbles. My friend tells me that he doesn't experience this problem and it is probably because his check marks are larger than mine. ********
First, I tried deleting the particular ck mk box and then copying and pasting in a ck mk box from a known good ck mk. That didn't work.
Then I deleted the entire ck mk group and copied and pasted a known good ck mk group. In testing so far it works. I'm not seeing the problem anymore.
If you try this and it does or doesn't work, please let me know.

Are you using "square", "withoutframe" or "auto"?
It has different result for each type.
Thanks for sharing,
ScanAddicted, I always use "Auto". But if I remember, I'll try the other types if/when the problem pops up again.
1. When you choose square, you must sure there is a "square" inside the region
2. When you choose auto means there is some object inside the region but its not square
3. when you choose without frame, means there's nothing in the region.
PS : Could ABBYY people verify my statement above?
But I have experience the same with you for my questionaire couple of time ago and I will do your tricks when it happens again.
Since we use bubbles, Auto seems the right choice. I have no idea why ABBYY will misread certain ck mk bubble within a ck mk group, but I found that copying and pasting a known good ck mk groups solves the problem.
Thank you that you've raised this issue and proposed your solution.
Could you also provide images so that our developers could analyze them, and help you and other users to solve the issues like yours, perhaps they will propose other universal solution.
When I come across the problem again, I can send the batch and notate the problem if you want.
