Some PDF files unexpectedly going to Exceptions folder

Hi all,

I am a user of Flexicapture 10 Distributed. I am using Hot Folder to load files in ABBYY. If the file is not acceptable by ABBYY then it goes to Exceptions folder, so if the file is problematic/corrupted then it goes to Exceptions folder. But some good PDF files are also being thrown to Exceptions folder. Those PDF files can be opened in Adobe Reader. I am not able to find out the reason why ABBYY throwing good PDF files to Exceptions folder.
There are two scenario of this problem:
1. if I load file in Hot Folder once again then it gets loaded successfully
2. file always goes to Exceptions folder even if I put the file in Hot Folder again and again. (many files in this scenario are having 'Secured' tag in title bar)

Thanks.

    Rahul,

How are you creating the PDF? Meaning, do you create the PDF file on the fly into the input folder? If so, maybe when the PDF is getting created, its not complete yet and that is why the PDF file is going to exception. Its best to create the PDF file outside the input folder first and load them in once they are complete.

    Hi Sushi,

I am getting readily created PDF files from server. My program/software is just copying those files and putting in input folder, So the possibility you are saying is not applicable in my case.
One more observation I am having is the files which are thrown to exception folder are oftenly having more than 100 pages in it.
I want to find the root cause for such cases because it is getting very difficult for the people to monitor exception folder every time and to MANUALLY handle/convert/load files.

    Thanks.

    Rahul,

How large is your PDF and do they have any restriction of password on them. The only time I've had issue with PDF is

    1) PDF was password protected from extraction
    2) PDF was corrupt
    3) PDF was larger than 2GB (FlexiCpature is still a 32bit program so can't access past that space)
