  Hello
  
  Check image preprocessing settings in batch type properties and project properties. If you need to preserve image quality do not use any conversions to black and white or other preprocessing settings.
  
  This also applies to scanning stations and image import profiles for hotfolders since they also have image preprocessing settings.

  Thanks for the suggestions.
  I have tried your suggested option of pre-processing settings, but still I am getting low quality PDFs. Interesting thing is if I export the document as .tif or .bmp then the output image is almost equal quality as that of input image. So i am really not able to find reason why it is happening with output PDF only. Positive side of PDF export is that the size of output file getting reduced more than expected, but quality of image should not be the cost for that. Please let me know if you have any more options to try.

  Hello Rahul:
  Are you using MRC compression for the PDF Files? If so, try deselecting MRC and see how it goes.

  Hi atorino,
  
  That MRC option is getting enabled only if I select "Create Searchable PDF" option, but I do not have a license for exporting as Searchable PDF (abbyy also shows warning message while saving the settings of the same).
  Still I saved the settings anyways and got the error of "Please obtain the appropriate license to use searchable Pdf" while exporting the doc.
  
  Anyways, If you have any more information on how the 'export as PDF' is optimized in abbyy in versions/releases, so may be we can get any clue by this information.
