We have been sent password protected PDF files that require a password to drag straight in from an email attachment. We do not know that password (or does the supplier). It will let us print and rescan in, but in a paperless world it would be great if there was a setting somewhere in the Scanning Station that ignored any password requirement.

Unfortunately it is not possible to ignore the PDF password on opening by means of FC Scanning Station. And it will not be possible to open PDF protected from content copying/extraction if you do not know the password, just because for every PDF page FC internally creates an image (that is, copies the source document) and then recognizes the text (extracts data).
This behavior is reasonable because password protection means that the PDF author did not want anybody to copy/extract the content of the PDF. If he wanted, he would share the password and you could enter it in a dialog displayed at Scanning Station as soon as protected PDF arrives as input.
