In my previous version of FineReader the scanning interface stayed always open after each PDF was compiled. In Finereader 12 the scanning interface closes. When I relaunch FineReader Scanning, the "Image Processing" option are not retained between scans. The behavior is also commented by this gentlemen as well.

Anyone's helpful expertise on this is appreciated.

As it turns out. If a person launches only ABBYY "Scan to PDF" the aforementioned limitations exist. If a person performs the scans from the primary ABBYY FineReader 12 GUI the aforementioned is not a problem. I'll use the full GUI for now. Bummer though that it looks like the new limitation has existed for a year now with no acknowledgement or improvement of the behavior by the ABBYY developers. At least their OCR is the best. Cheers.

Sorry again it was misprint after correction. This is the link to portal were you may find information about the Engine https://abbyy.technology/en: products:fre:start including the FineReader Engine FAQs department https://abbyy.technology/en:kb:faq:start
Actually in the first link there is no space before "products" word, but otherwise the forum engine replaces it by
Please remove this space from the adress line

ABBYY guides FineReader users to this forum by this KB Article that states it applies to FineReader Engine. They break the forums down into 3 parts. SDK forum. Linux forum. and Data & Document Capture Solutions (E.G. Finereader).
What I found disconcerting is the categories list for this list omits FineReader. I also found it disconcerting that I'd see folks posting to the closest category they could think of for FineReader (FlexiCapture General Questions) and they like myself would just get dismissed as if they're on the wrong website instead of getting their post moved to a FineReader category.
I know this domain is registered and owned by ABBYY Corp. Can ABBYY please explain this kind of behavior when it comes to facilitating a forum category for FineReader???
A final note. Where is the means to run search queries on this forum??? Particularly the means to limit search queries to a specific product category??? ABBYY has a great product. However, I'm confounded by this forum. LMK. Have a great weekend all.0 -
Hello,
We are sorry about misunderstanding.
This forum supports only the DataCapture products' line that includes FlexiCapture and Recognition Server. Unfortunately the ABBYY company hasn't provided a forum for FineReader desktop support.
In such a case, to get assistance in the encountered issue you may contact the local regional support for the desired product.
On our side we will address your feedback to the ABBYY HQ to draw their attention to the situation.
Again, we are sorry for inconveniences caused.
