Hi all, I was hoping to get some clarification on the potential differences between how Finereader and Flexicapture pre process images before recognition.
We are recognising statements between the two programs and FineReader appears to pre process documents with a step to smooth out characters (similar to anti-aliasing).
With the same document in Flexicapture/Flexilayout it appears far more pixelated.
Is there a source that can tell us the differences between the way the two systems perform pre-processing of images? And is there a way we can coax FlexiCapture to work in the same way as FineReader in this regard?
Any info/help appreciated as always!

Hi Andy,
It's diffucult to give any clarifications about FC/FR comparison without knowing any version or build of compared programs and the format of pre-processed document, but in general, FlexiCapture and FineReader use different versions of OCR engines and one product will not be able to exactly "coax" the results of another product.
