Distributed Version Processing Speed

Good day,

I recently started using ABBYY FC 12 distributed version (I firstly had experience with the Standalone one).

When I send a large amount of documents to be processed on the server, I don't notice any increase in the processing speed compared to when I process the same in my local machine.

Where can I set up or visualize this speed? Is it possible to divide the batches into sub-batches and process those in parallel? If so, how can I do the same?

In general, how can I increase the processing speed, because to this point I don't see any improvement against the standalone version I was using till now.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

    Hello,

The big difference between the Standalone an Distributed version is that you can add more machines to deal with different tasks. To do so you need to install the Processing station component on the machine and then add this processing station to the Processing Server Monitor:

    test

The load will be distributed between the stations automatically.

Please note that the amount of the processing stations you can set up can be limited by the license. You can see this information in the License Manager:

The general recommendations to increase processing speed would be:

    1. Use better quality images (this decreases the amount of hypotheses for each symbol )

    2. Distribute the types of tasks between the processing stations. For example, it is better to impose import tasks on the machine in the same subnetwork with the hotfolder and the high spec machine is better for recognition.

    Hope this helps
