Invoice not matching correct Document Definition Answered

Hi,

In my Flexicapture project I have roughly 150 document definition for invoices of various types created using the Flexilayout studio.

It happens often that the invoice does not match the desired document definition and this causes the recognition to not happen properly.

Is classifiers the only way of solving this issue. If I want to debug should I be looking at changing the Flexilayout of the document definition it's matching to wrongly or the document definition it should be matching.

Can you please let me know whats the correct approach which should be taken.

Any ideas on how to go about it will be appreciated.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the problem you describe cannot be resolved with the classifiers, as they are designated for quick and rough separation of documents.

The correct approach is to increase the quality of FlexiLayouts matching. To do this, the troublesome images should also be included into the FlexiLayout Studio project when tuning the layout and the quality of "production" layout should be sufficient to match such images.

In your situation with many document definitions, we'd also recommend to create well-defined headers for each layout that would allow to quickly reject wrong document definitions and to speed up the selection.

    Hi Ekaterina,

Thanks for your reply. Can you please let me know how the OCR selects the document definition to match. Is it purely based on the keywords defined  in headers and searchElements for that FlexiLayout.

If a document is matching a wrong definition. I am planning to add that document in Flexilayout to correct the template and add more keywords using static elements in the document so that chances of matching the document to this Flexilayout definition increases.

Does this above approach sound OK

How should I design a Flexilayout for a document so that the chances of the document matching this flexilayout is quite high.

    Hello,

When FC tries to match the document, first of all the Header elements of all enabled flexible sections are applied to the document. If the Header fits, then the rest of layout tries to match, otherwise the flexible section is skipped.

So when there are many document definitions, it's important to have very specific Headers that will match strictly one type of document. Here you may find recommendations:

“Pre-recognition > Analyzing images” article in the FlexiLayout Studio Help.

To ensure that the best matched layout will be selected please check on the FlexiCapture level that the “Use first accessible flexilayout” checkmark is disabled.
