I've been working on invoices. For a field named Total there is large gap and also separators(Vertical lines) between the label and field. I tried using labeled field it is not capturing correctly.

If I am understanding correctly, it sounds like you want to use a combination of a "Static Text" and "Character String"., then use a relationship between the 2. This will let you control the space in between.
