I am using Epson Perfection V300 Scanner to scan text that also has Chinese characters. The ABBYY software I first used was FineReaders 9.0 Sprint. Today I added trial of FineReader 14.
The first time I downloaded the FineReader Sprint 9.0 it worked perfectly. I believe I scanned it Saved it as PDF and converted to Word. When I converted to Word it came out perfectly with the everything in place and Chinese characters there. I thought great this will be easy to do. Yesterday I started up to finish and it has not worked the same since. This is why I downloaded the trila of the FineReader 14 but it does not do it either.
I am scanning a membership directory for our organization. I want to have it in Word to edit and add names and PDF to email to member. How do it do this. I have scanned the directory and saved as PDF but using ABBYY to open file, it does not recignize it. Says something like this is not common file. Epson gives option to scan in modes of Full Auto, Home, Office, Professional. I t hink the first time I did it was Full Auto but now none of these work.
Can anyone give me the steps to accomplish this scan or direct to where I can fine it. Tutorial tab on the ABBYY website did not work.

Sorry, FineReader goes out of scope of this forum (here we are dealing with such Data Capture products as FlexiCapture and Recognition Server).
