Image region definition

Hi,

Anyone knows if there is a JS plugin that enables to get a region (left, top, right, bottom) of a document or image or any online tool that can do that ?

Thanks

    Hi,

Unfortunately the issue is not clear. Could you specify whether you want to recognize some region and to get its coordinates or just crop it using JS?

    Hi,

It is to get the region of a textfield on a scanned image like on the attached screenshot.

And I was wondering if there is some JS plugin that enables to get the coordinates (left, top, right, bottom).

    Thanks

    Sorry, I’m still confused.

Do you mean just manually find out coordinates on image when you hover the cursor on certain pixel?

In this case, any simple tool for image editing will be helpful, I suppose.

In case you’re trying to do this automatically, you could use ABBYY FineReader Engine API. It supports JS and provides every detected object with its coordinates. See this explanation for details.

Another option is to use ABBYY Cloud OCR SDK. It uses the same technology, but image processing happens in ABBYY servers, so you can use API without downloading and installation.

All information about coordinates may be extracted from xml output. You may read here for example about what exactly xml file contains.

    Hope it will help you!
