Hello. I've been using ABBYY finereader for years without any problem. Then all of a sudden (apparently) it stopped recognizing the scanner. Now I get a Cannot open TWAIN source error, and subsequently a Source initialization failed. I've tried installing another version of the software, but to no avail. The only workaround I've found is creating another account for my computer and using AFR as that new user. In that case it works.
I'm on windows 7 and use AFR portable with an epson scanner. I know I must've changed some preference somewhere, but I have no clue where.

Please note that this forum is created for ABBYY products for developers (SDKs). Could you please clarify which ABBYY product you are using - FineReader or FineReader Engine?

Hello, thank you for your answer. Yes, I'm using finereader. Meanwhile I lost my login for this form, so I don't know where Abbyy will contact me. Hope they can answer here.
