Hello,
When you choose an area, you should see the "+" and "-" buttons near it, like this:
These tools are for adding or deleting rectangular pieces to or from an area.
To delete a piece, select "-" tool, place the mouse pointer inside the area, click and drag outside the area over the part you want to delete.
It's not possible to draw a trapezoid area in FineReader PDF.
