For proof-reading purposes, I would find it incredibly useful to have a 'read aloud' function in the right-hand window above the recognised text. Or, can you explain why there isn't such an option. At the moment, I have to do an export and then run the reader on the export - and then correct in the left-hand reader. I've tried using the built-in read aloud in Windows, NVDA and another 3rd party reader, but none of them seem able to read what has been generated in a sensible way in the right-hand window. What does everybody else do?

Hello Ros! Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, at the moment screen readers cannot read well the text of the recognized document directly from FineReader's OCR Editor right-hand (Text editor) window. You need to export the recognized document, to MS Word for example, to use a third party screen reader on the text.
For proofreading, FineReader PDF has the Verify tool, but it implements the proofreading capability to be done in a visual way instead of aural.
What do other community members think? Would you find read aloud function or ability of using a 3rd party screen reader useful for the purpose of proofreading recognized text in FineReader PDF? Please feel free to comment below.

As someone who works in the Digitization Centre at my university and creates accessible documents from scanned books/articles, it would be very useful to have a built in tool to allow for testing purposes within ABBYY rather than having to rely on third-party tools.
