  Ekaterina's statement that ABBYY products support OCR of Hebrew language is not fully correct.  None of ABBYY's products can recognize Hebrew diacritics/vowel pointing.  It is a pretty sad fact that after 15 versions, ABBYY still can't say that they fully support OCR recognition of the Hebrew language.

  It has been another seven years since this comment was posted... It is possible to train the products to recognize Hebrew with vowels. This requires training every single pattern that you want recognized, which means each letter with each point (dagesh) and each vowel individually. Here comes another dilemma. I am a user of Abbyy who is blind. I can't do this editing. My assistants are sighted but do not know the Hebrew language. And thus I cannot accomplish this training. I have been using FineReader since 2006, and for this entire time I have wished that someone could work with me to train it for Hebrew recognition.

  I would like to know: if it can be trained, can the training files be shared? And if so,, would anyone like to partner with me to train FineReader? I would be happy to assist you with yours in whatever way I can.
