Language Editor - Read Only?

In Recognition Server 4, when I open the Language Editor in the Verification Station, the window always says "Read Only" and I am not able to change anything.  If I understand correctly, the Language Editor will be in "Read Only" mode if the dictionary is in use by someone else, but I am running all components of RS on a single computer and this happens even when there is only one job being processed.  I would like to use the Language Editor to change the punctuation characters and list of prohibited characters for a language (but keep the dictionary the same), to remove some characters that never appear in my documents (e.g., &copy)When I use FineReader, instead, I am able to do this and it improves the recognition accuracy.  How can I do this in RS?  Thanks.

    Hello,

Are you able to create new language as described in the ABBYY Recognition Server 4 Verification Station Help based on existing?

The Verification Station Help says: "2. In the Language Editor dialog box that opens, click New…." but I do not see a New button.  I have attached a screenshot o my original post (note that this screenshot shows 3 other documents in the queue, but this problem happens always, even when there are no documents in the queue).

    Hello,

Thank you for drawing our attention to this discrepancy in ABBYY RS functionality and Help file. The ABBYY HQ was informed about it and now we're waiting for their decision.

The ABBYY HQ have replied that this functionality is no longer available in the RS, but this function is accessible in Fine Reader.

Is there any other way to do this in RS, such as editing a configuration file, XML ticket, or ...?  This is a very useful feature that can improve recognition accuracy.

I posted a Feature Suggestion about this at http://www.capturedocs.com/thread/438-feature-suggestions/?order=all#comment-3a42ce2d-c816-4d26-b05c-a75500bfda35.

It would be very beneficial to be able to remove characters like ©, ®, ™ from the Old German and other FineReader XIX languages in Recognition Server.  Those characters did not exist at the time and reduce recognition accuracy (e.g., "G" in Old German Fraktur can be mistakenly recognized as ©.
