Hi Chetan,
Standalone is normally installed on a PC and can only be used on the machine it is installed on. There is also a few limitations with standalone, mainly pertaining to workflow.
Distributed is installed on 1 or more servers and can be accessed via the remote clients. This allows multiple user to access the projects via the web or thick clients.
