I am really having a hard time in trying to get to know how to use Classifier which comes as part of the FlexiCapture 10 package. Even in all the sample that are available in tutorials there is no use of Classifier. Reading the instruction set out on knowledge base only left me more confused. Am I the only one failing to really grasp how Classifier works. Is there anyone who has used it before if so how did you create it??
I basically was just looking to know the step by step guide of how to create a classification project fcp If anyone can help I will be most grateful. It just so happens that the particular advantage that classification offers is the key ingredient and the overall reason my company purchased the software.
Just a brief background, we intend to process orders from our many different customers, their orders are received within an email in a pdf format. We have designed a tool to read all pdf attachments and add them to our hotspot.
I have managed to design and develop most of the Layout and Capture projects for the many customers and they export to without a problem we only have an issue with some truncation occurring.
I now need to be able to group all my document definitions at the point of the hotspot and allow for ABBYY software to select best possible match and in order for that to happen I need to classify my documents and this is where I am getting stuck
Is each class equivalent to one document and the features are all the unique elements on the particular page?
Do I group all of the different document sources as one batch and press auto classify(auto classify selection is always greyed out as being not available)
The Training button is always greyed out as not available.

Harti,
Classifer are basically almost the same as a normal FlexiLayout Project. Instead of Search Elements you have Features and instead of Blocks you have Classes. It somewhat hard to explain how it works but there is 3 different modes. Auto- Manual - Semi Automatic. I took a FlexiLayout class that had exercise that help me learn it. It might be best if you contact your local ABBYY Support to walk you though it. Its not complicated but as with FlexiLayout, can be confusing if someone doesn't walk you through it.

Can you tell me why classifier is used and what is its advantage? In which case do we use in FCI 12?
