In FlexiLayout, is it possible with CharacterString search element to search for a multiline text based on regular expression? It seems to only support single line.

Perhaps for your purpose you may use Paragraph or Region elements?
Paragraph is an element that describes a paragraph. When searching for the paragraph, the program will consider all text objects wholly or partially contained within the search area. https://help.abbyy.com/en-us/flexicapture/12/flexilayout_studio/text_chain
Region is an element in a FlexiLayout which defines an area on an image without imposing any restrictions on the data inside. https://help.abbyy.com/en-us/flexicapture/12/flexilayout_studio/area

thank you for your answer. Does Paragraph or Region support regular expressions though? I didn't find this option.
Meanwhile I solved the problem by not using FlexiLayout but using FlexiCapture SDK instead.
Which is a pity because this could be supported out of the box by FlexiCapture template.
