The Cloud OCR SDK processMRZ call is working really fine for french passports, but seems to have trouble for french ID cards. The fields are either mapped incorrectly (e.g. the field "BirthDate" does not contain the birth date but a part of the first name), incomplete (document number, personal number, ...) or missing (expiry date).
Did you have the chance to try the processMRZ method on French ID cards ? Its it expected to work correctly ?

Does a machine-readable zone of the French ID cards correspond to the ICAO Document 9303 (endorsed by the ISO and the IEC as ISO/IEC 7501-1)? Also please read more information about the supported MRZ standard in Wikipedia. The processMRZ method supports only this standard, so not all documents and with not all kinds of MRZ can be processed using this method. Unfortunately, currently there is no plans to extend this method in nearest future.
