I was using the OCR demo to check the accuracy of Cloud SDK, but most of the time the result is not displayed. Whenever, I am able to get the result, the output is also in image format. Is it possible to get the OCR output result in txt format also? if yes, how?

An empty result is returned when text is not found (because of low image quality or incorrect recognition settings). If you share your image or send it to CloudOCRSDK@abbyy.com, we will provide the most suitable settings.
The Demo tool just displays the recognized text, it could not be copied. To get the result in txt format, use our quick start guide and set exportformat=txt.
