FineReader Engine will try to recognize each symbol on the image or in the region marked. On the image that contains both digits and letters, when you set language which contains only digits, FRE will try to recognize in each letter some digit. You could try to recognize the document as usual and then select from the document digits and capital letter in post-processing.
