The images I want to ocr with the Abbyy FineReader SDK are former paper documents scanned into PDF files. Due to user error some of those documents are upside down. Is there any way to find out if the document has the wrong orientation and to rotate it if that is the case?

Did you try to set the PagePreprocessingParams::CorrectOrientation property into TRUE?
