I have a bunch of older documents that are in 2-column. ABBYY sometimes manages to read the text properly, but other times tangles the columns' text hopelessly. Pulling the text into a single-column result is a headache. Is there a setting somewhere that says "render multi-column text as single-column only" or the like?

Hi Deej,
You can try to use Formatted copy layout for the resulting file (Tools > Options > Format Settings > DOC(X)/RTF/ODT) for the output file. But it is important to check the area order before export and correct it if needed. If you have any difficulties, please create a support ticket and provide us with the source file.
