How to completely remove the FineReader PDF 16 version from the computer?

Answer

To remove the program, please use the standard Windows methods:

  1. Click Start and type Control Panel, and select it.
  2. Select Programs > Programs and Features.
  3. Right-click ABBYY FineReader PDF to uninstall.
  4. Select Uninstall.

The instructions on how to uninstall programs are also available in the Microsoft article.

Then delete the following program folders (if these folders still exist):

  • C:\temp\FR16
  • C:\ProgramData\ABBYY\FineReader\16
  • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\ABBYY\FineReader\16 
  • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\ABBYY\FineReader\16
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\ABBYY\FineReader\16
  • C:\Program Files\ABBYY FineReader 16

Note: The ProgramData and AppData folders can be hidden.
