What does the Show out-of-processing batches option in the Batch Filter window mean?

Answer 

The Show out-of-processing batches option when enabled will show the batches which are not in the workflow, i.e. are not currently on any specific stage. For example, such batches could be created manually and were not sent to any stage for further processing.
