Symptoms

When trying to open a document definition, the error occurs:

Unable to access Document Definitions Database: <path>. This object is locked by another user.

Cause

This error occurs in FlexiCapture projects opened locally. It is not clear what the exact reason is. 

Resolution

This can be resolved by renaming the project file. Please follow these steps: 

1. Make a copy of the project folder. 
   
2. Open the location of the project copy and rename the project file with the .fcproj extension:
   
   In the screenshot above EU_Invoices.fcproj was renamed into EU_Invoices1.fcproj
3. Try opening the project and accessing document definitions.
