Updating FineReader PDF License Server

How to update the FineReader PDF License Server on the server? 

 

Answer

To update the License Server, the latest version must be installed over the existing version. Please follow the next steps:

  1. On the server, download the distribution kit of the latest FineReader PDF version for installation in LAN: FineReader download links.
  2. Run the downloaded *.exe file and install the program over the previous installation by replacing all files (click Yes to All).
  3. In the AutoRun Wizard window, choose Mass installation > Install and activate using the License Manager > Step 1. Install the License Server and the License Manager.
  4. Continue the update by clicking OK:

The administrative installation point needs to be updated if FineReader PDF is going to be installed on new workstations from this installation point. In this case, the latest program release will be installed on the workstations.

To update the administrative installation point, install the latest version over the current administrative installation point or create a new one using the latest distribution kit as described in the System Administrator's Guide: Creating an administrative installation point.
