Issue

At the end of the installation the following error message appears:

"Cannot load DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FineReader 15\RecPage.dll.
The module wasn´t found."

Cause

Starting from Release 5 (see Change Log for version history), FineReader 15 requires that Visual C++ Redist is installed on the computer. Without the Visual C++ Redistributable already installed on the computer, installing FineReader PDF 15 will be impossible.

Resolution

Preinstall Visual C++ Redistributable before installing FineReader PDF 15.

You can download the Visual C++ Redist here or install it from the External components\VC_Redist folder, which can be found in the folder containing the setup files.

To install the Visual C++ Redist from the VC_Redist folder:

• for a 32-bit system, run vcredist_x86.exe
• for a 64-bit system, run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe, in any order.
