Cannot load DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FineReader 15\RecPage.dll. The specified module could not be found

Symptoms

At the end of the installation of FineReader PDF 15, the following error message appears:
Cannot load DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FineReader 15\RecPage.dll.
The specified module could not be found.

Cause

Starting from Release 5 FineReader PDF 15 requires that Visual C++ Redist is installed on the computer. Without the Visual C++ Redistributable already installed on the computer, installing FineReader PDF 15 will be impossible.

Resolution

Please preinstall Visual C++ Redistributable before installing FineReader PDF 15.

The Visual C++ Redist is available to download here or it is possible to install it from the VC_Redist folder, which can be found in the folder containing the setup files (by default the path to the folder is: C:\temp\FR15\External Components\VC_Redist).

To install the Visual C++ Redistributable from the VC_Redist folder, please:

for a 32-bit system, run vcredist_x86.exe
for a 64-bit system, run vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe, in any order.
