Chief Admin Password is incorrect in FineReader Server 14

If you faced a situation when you are unable to access FineReader Server 14 with an error:

ABBYY FineReader Server 14 reported an error: Failed to retrieve login status collection. Authentication failed: invalid login name or password.

You can reset the password in Configuration.xml (by default C:\ProgramData\ABBYY FineReader Server 14.0):

  1. Stop the Server Manager Service:

  2. Go to C:\ProgramData\ABBYY FineReader Server 14.0, reset the password in Configuration.xml: 
    <ChiefAdminPassword>0</ChiefAdminPassword>
  1. Start the Server Manager Service and try to access the Server again.
