Question
The Correct page orientation settings can be set up in the Document Definition Properties and in the Project Properties. What settings should be used if the automatic page orientation correction is needed?
Answer
The page orientation correction settings can be set for each Document Definition separately or for each Batch Type. Therefore, it can be set in both the Project (Batch Type) Properties and the Document Definition Properties. Let's take a look at both cases.
Case 1: The project has several Document Definitions, but not all of them require the page orientation correction or they require different correction settings.
In this case, set the orientation correction separately for those Document Definitions that require it. These settings can be implemented in the Document Definition Properties > Recognition tab > Advanced Recognition Settings.
Case 2: The project has several Document Definitions, and they all require the same page orientation correction settings.
In this case, the orientation correction settings in the Project Properties should be used: Project Properties > Recognition tab > Advanced Recognition Settings.
For Document Definitions to use these settings, the Prefer Settings from the batch type option on the Document Definition Properties > Recognition tab should be enabled.
* Project Properties are equivalent to Default Batch Type Properties. When using multiple Batch Types, it is possible to set the page orientation correction for each Batch Type by using the Batch Type Properties.
