Error when updating Data Sets using the CLI: Cannot load DLL C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers\DAForms.HighLevel.dll

Symptoms

The following command results in an error.

C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers>FlexiBRSvc.exe please update dataset "https://localhost/1/Test" "Document Definition 1" "DataSet1"

Error:

ERROR: Cannot load DLL C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers\DAForms.HighLevel.dll.
The specified module could not be found.

Cause

This issue is reproduced in older releases of ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 and was fixed in version 12.0.2.3113.

Resolution

The following solutions and workarounds are possible:

  • Update the FlexiCapture 12 to the latest version. The download link: FlexiCapture Distributed/FlexiCapture for Invoices Latest release
  • Use the Stations installation folder instead of the Servers folder as a path to the FlexiBRSvc.exe file. By default: C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Stations\FlexiBRSvc.exe. Example of a command:
    "C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Stations\FlexiBRSvc.exe" please update dataset "http://myAppServer/ProjectId/ProjectName" "Invoice" "Vendors"
  • Copy the DAForms.HighLevel.dll file from the Stations to the Servers folder.
