Error (local installation): Cannot load DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\ABBYY FineReader 15\Image.Services.Core.dll

Cause

  • An antivirus or endpoint security tool is blocking FineReader components, which prevents the Image.Services.Core.dll file from initializing properly.

Resolution

Note: these instructions are for locally installed FineReader PDF 15. 

  1. Repair FineReader PDF. 
  2. Add FineReader 15 folders to the antivirus whitelist/list of exclusions.
