Symptoms

When trying to activate a serial number of FineReader PDF 15 in the License Manager (installation in LAN) using a license file, the following error message appears:

License file is intended only for workstation installation.

Cause

The error message appears when trying to activate a Standalone license of FineReader PDF 15 in the License Manager using the license file generated for a workstation.

Resolution

According to the FineReader 15 System Administrator's Guide, the Standalone license of the program should be installed and activated locally on the workstation. 

Please install FineReader PDF 15 with the Standalone license locally on the workstation: 

1. Download the distribution kit of the latest version of FineReader PDF 15 Standalone: Downloading FineReader PDF 15.
   We recommend to turn off any third-party software (registry cleaners, antivirus software) while downloading the distribution kit and installation.
2. Install the program on the workstation.
3. Activate it with a serial number using the activation method via the Internet: FineReader activation via the internet.
