How to process digitally signed emails using FineReader Server 14? While importing digitally signed emails we receive the error message: The following error ocurred when loading the file 'smime.p7s': The image file format has not been recognized: smime.p7s

Answer

Outlook automatically sends smime.p7s files with emails if you’ve installed a digital certificate and signed the outgoing message.

Smime.p7s is a digital signature that can be sent with an email to confirm the identity of the sender and allow encrypted emails to be exchanged.

FineReader Server 14 sees a smime.p7s attachment but cannot recognize it.
 
As a proper solution, please, add *.p7s to the Exclude mask in the Input File Filter in the Workflow Properties > Input Tab:

Exclude mask should look like this: *.p7m;*.p7s
