Please note that 'Error 258' relates to the third-parties software (antivirus, cleaners) or the installation of operating system updates. If you face the 258-error message in FineReader PDF 15, please check that FineReader folders and processes are added to the antivirus and cleaners’ exceptions.
You may consult the corresponding articles in our Knowledge Base: FineReader is launched with an assert: Error code: 258 and Error 258 appears on a machine with CCleaner installed.
