Symptoms

Getting the below error during the installation of FlexiCapture 12: 

"Error 1722. An error occurred with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action Launch_FlexiBrSvc.exe_PerformanceCounter_64, location: C:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers\FlexiBrSvc.exe"

Cause

The following error may appear in several cases:

1. The installation distributive is damaged;
2. Antivirus or Firewall might be blocking the installation parts;
3. Corruption of the Windows performance counter.

Resolution

1. Disable Antivirus and Firewall. It is also recommended to disable UAC (User Account Control). Then, re-download the distribution package file.
2. In case the Antivirus and Firewall are already disabled it might be an issue with the Windows performance counters. It prevents FlexiCapture 12 from being uninstalled/updated (as FlexiCapture 12 has its own performance counters).
   The general Windows recommendation for this issue is to rebuild performance counters.

3. Run the following command in the command prompt (launch it as Administrator):

   >cd syswow64
   >lodctr /R

4. After the counters are rebuilt, launch the installation again.
