Symptoms

The following error occurs when trying to upgrade the Processing Station: 

Error 1722. An error occured with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action Launch_FlexiBrSvc. exe_PerformanceCounter_64, location: O:\Program Files\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Stations\FlexiBrSvc.exe, command: -installcounters

Cause

Due to a bug in the installer, which is expected to be resolved in FlexiCapture 12 Release 4 Update 4, a necessary file for running FlexiBrSvc.exe is not installed when only the Processing Station component is selected.

Resolution

To ensure the installation of the required files, it is recommended to install the Processing Station along with another station. To do this, please follow the steps below:

1. Open the installation distribution
2. Select Install workstations > Modify
3. Check the Processing station along with the Project Setup Station
4. Once installation is finished, remove the Project Setup Station if it is not needed
