Unable to connect error message is displayed after launching Web API Demo FineReader Server 14 from Microsoft Edge

If after launching Web Services API Demo from Microsoft Edge 44.18362.1.0 browser you see the following error message:

Unable to connect to ABBYY FineReader 14 Web Service 

This situation is connected to the fact that some versions of Microsoft Windows use isolating technology "AppContainer" which can block requests sent to the program from Microsoft Edge. By default an application launched in this container is restricted from sending network traffic to local computer (using "loopback").

To allow the loopback in Microsoft Edge please follow the steps below:

  1. Launch PowerShell as administrator;

  2. Run the command:
CheckNetIsolation LoopbackExempt -a -n="Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe"
  1. Restart the browser.
