Symptoms

In some cases, the installation of FlexiCapture 12 can fail with the following error:

Error 1722. An error occurred with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. 
Action Launch_InstallTool.exe_install, location: C:\ProgramFiles\ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Servers\InstallTool.exe

Cause

• Not every necessary external component was installed and/or enabled.
• Other sites in the IIS interfere with the installation of Application Server and Web Stations.
  

Resolution

For the required external components, check the list of requirements in the ABBYY Online Help, System and software components section.

For example, in Windows 10 you can check the installed components of IIS and .NET in Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off. Please refer to the screenshots below.

Check that all these features are enabled in the system. Installing and enabling missing components should resolve this error.

In case everything is installed and enabled, check if there are other sites in the IIS already added. If possible, remove them from the IIS server and try the installation again.
