Question

How to troubleshoot network connectivity issues in Windows OS?

Answer

A major part of ABBYY software uses different ports for communication. Sometimes there is a need to check the connectivity. Here is the list of the most popular services and instructions on how to check the tunnel.

FlexiCapture 12:

ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Processing Server 10024
ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Processing Station 10025
ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Licensing Service 3020
  1. The first step is to check if a connection to the server can be established:
    ping 10.0.0.12

  2. If the connection failed, then connect to the server machine using RDP or physical access. Check that the port is opened and the service is running. Make sure that both machines are in the same workgroup or domain.

  3. On the other hand, if the ping was successful, check the port availability. Run the Command Prompt as administrator and execute the command:

    telnet

If the telnet command is not recognized, then turn on this feature using these instructions.

  4. Check the connectivity using the character_o server_name port_number command:

    o localhost 10025

If there is no Connection failed message, then the connection is stable. A successful connection will result in port being listening

To terminate the test connection hit CTRL+], then type q and hit Enter.

  5. If the connection failed, connect to the machine using RDP or physical access and check the status of ports:

    netstat -na | find "10025"

  6. If the port is not opened, check the status of the service using services.msc.

  7.

Also, make sure that the port is listening the correct application:

    netstat -abo | find "port_number"

  8. Check if the PID from the previous step belongs to the ABBYY application via Task Manager:
