How to save Windows Event Viewer logs?

Answer

Event Viewer is a built-in Windows utility. To save the Windows Event Viewer logs:

  1. Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer.
  2. On the left pane, select the Application or System node.

  3. Click Action > Save log file as.
  4. Save the *.evtx file.

  5. Zip it before sharing to reduce its size.
