Error message "A sharing violation occurs while accessing <filename>" in Recognition Server 4.0

Symptoms

The following error message appears: A sharing violation occurred while accessing <file name>.

Cause

Such error messages mean that some system settings cause a conflict of file access. 

Resolution

In these cases, we recommend setting antivirus program or any other specific programs so that they do not check the temporary folders of the Server and Processing Station of the Recognition Server.
The following default paths are:

  • Server Manager temporary folders — %PROGRAMDATA%\ABBYY Recognition Server 4.0\RS4WF;
  • Processing Station temporary folders — %PROGRAMDATA%\ABBYY Recognition Server 4.0\PS4WF.
