"Partition function can only be created in Enterprise edition of SQL Server. Only Enterprise edition of SQL Server supports partitioning" error occurs while creating new database.

Question

I receive "Partition function can only be created in Enterprise edition of SQL Server. Only Enterprise edition of SQL Server supports partitioning." while creating a new database in the Administration and Monitoring Console in FlexiCapture 12 Release 4.

Answer

To avoid the issue with the DB connection, SQL Express 2016 SP1 or later needs to be used.

Since FlexiCapture Release 4 the supported versions of SQL are:

  • All editions of SQL starting from 2016SP1
  • Enterprise edition of older versions (such as SQL Server 2014)
