FlexiCapture 12 database creation fails with SQL Server Network Interfaces:Error xFFFFFFFF

Symptoms

The following error appears when creating a FlexiCapture database:

SQL Server Network Interfaces:Error
Locating Server/Instance Specified.
[xFFFFFFFF].

Cause

SQL Server/Instance may not exist or the SQL Server process does not run.

Resolution

Check the SQL Server environment by performing the following operations.

  1. Confirm that the database connection settings specified during database creation are correct and do not have typos/mistakes.
  2. The operation status of the SQL Server Windows service on the computer with installed SQL Server.

  3. If SQL Server Management Studio is available, check if you can connect and log in to the SQL Server instance with the credentials used when trying to create a database.
